Between the friend you invite on vacation who turns out to be rude, the friend you lend your couch to as a last resort and who stays longer than expected, or those you invite to a party who make a mess... Sometimes, we regret our generosity. This week, Libé tells you stories where our witnesses really said to themselves: "You shouldn't have invited him." Today, Alice (1), a 37-year-old actress and singer, recalls how her partner was rude to her new friends during a festive evening.
“I was 21 years old and I was returning from a year of studying abroad. At the end of the summer, I saw Thomas (1) again, whom I had met in high school, and I started going out with him. I found him very handsome, very stylish, I was really happy. Especially since I already had him in my sights. Even though we talked a lot together, socially he was a bit wild. I convinced myself that he would change – when you're young, you have illusions!
"At the time, I was renting a room from a very nice Parisian notable and I began to realize that Thomas was not very suited to social situations: when he came to see me, he only answered my landlord's questions with yes or no, without making any effort. On the contrary, I was extremely sociable and I could already imagine him facing my mother, who would not tolerate his laconic answers.
